Sanctuary Reopening

posted Sep 24, 2020, 11:20 AM by Faith UCC   [ updated Oct 16, 2020, 11:31 AM by James Christensen ]

NOTE: As of Sunday, October 18, worship will again be on-line only due to increased incidence of COVID-19 cases in Ohio and Cuyahoga County.
Worship in the Sanctuary will resume again when conditions permit.
Dear Faith and Friends,

As we prepare to resume in-person worship on Oct. 4th for those who feel comfortable doing so, it is important for everyone to know and practice safety protocols to keep us all safe as we gather in our building. Attached please find the safety guidelines developed by our Worship Ministry that we will all need to abide by if we are to worship in person safely. Please read the attached document carefully and be prepared to follow its directives if you come to worship in person.

So far, from a safety perspective, our experimental services in the sanctuary during September have gone well, and we expect that this will continue to be the case when more of our members return to in-person worship. Our members have been cooperative, supportive, and helpful with suggestions for gathering safely, for which all of our leaders are grateful.

Since Oct. 4th is World Communion Sunday, we are suggesting three means by which you might take communion:

  • home communion, as we have done in our exclusively online services;
  • bringing your own communion elements from home to consume in your seat in the sanctuary;
  • coming forward to receive the communion elements safely prepared and provided in the sanctuary.

Like so much else these days, resuming in-person worship is a process that will require flexible and creative thinking, and we appreciate your patience if we need to modify practices in light of new information. Safety remains our top priority.

If you have any questions, please contact Donna Nedrow, Barb Holtz, or me.

Peace,
Gene McAfee
Pastor

Prayer Requests

posted Mar 27, 2020, 12:55 PM by James Christensen   [ updated Mar 27, 2020, 7:30 PM ]

"Do not be anxious about anything. But in every situation, by prayer and petition -- with thanksgiving -- present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6, NIV).

Faith Church takes prayer seriously. Our Sunday worship is structured around prayer -- prayers of invocation, confession, intercession, and thanksgiving -- and we encourage our members to pray "without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17), enriching their spiritual, emotional, and physical lives through constant contact with God.

We invite you to join us in our daily life of prayer. If you have specific requests for which you would like our community of faith to join you in praying, here's a place where you can let us know. You can ask for prayer assistance from the pastor, from our Prayer Team, or from the entire congregation. You can submit as much or as little information as you wish, and your requests to the Prayer Team or Pastor will be held in confidentiality. If you need us to contact you, please let us know. God bless you.
