For This Year's Giving Tree during Advent, Faith United Church of Christ will be collecting items for newly settled Refugees in the Cleveland area. US Together is a Non Profit Refugee Resettlement Agency founded in 2003 in response to the growing needs of refugees and immigrants in Ohio. US Together was started and is still run by former refugees. US Together, Cleveland, began resettling diverse refugee populations in 2008 including individuals from the Former Soviet Union, Iran, Iraq, Burma, Bhutan, Eritrea, Somalia, Congo, Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, and Syria. Please help supply these families with items such as: Gift cards to grocery stores from Aldi, Savea-Lot, or Walmart since new arrivals often wait a few weeks for their food stamps, also coats for children and adults, winter accessories (hats, gloves, scarves), RTA bus passes (http://tinyurl.com/hxw398m) or cash donations. Please be sure to take an ornament off the Giving Tree and bring the items in unwrapped. See Donna Nedrow or Nancy Jacquet with any questions or go to the US Together website.
